"Power to Rise" by Raymond
Gibby 42" h x 50" w x 30" d

Because of their ability to soar so
high that they become part of the heavens, I often like to associate
eagles with divinity. However, in my sculpture "Power to Rise" the
eagle is perched near to the ground on the skull of a buffalo.
What's interesting is that with all the might and strength of the
buffalo, he was unable to rise above all things. The eagle, on the
other hand, because it has the great gift of flight, can take itself
out of a hard situation and get up where the view is much clearer.
May we have the strength of the buffalo yet still have the power to
rise above hardship like the eagle.
